Everyone knows John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” But what about 1 John 3:16 that says that Jesus gave His life for us? We should also give our lives for each other. Do we know this? Are we willing to do it? In 1 John 3:17 John explains this route even further by saying that if we don’t help our brothers and sisters when they are in need, the love of God isn’t in us. Love, the Lord’s kind, isn’t only a collection of words. We don’t only say we love God and each other; we show it. Love should be seen, felt and heard. Love is a verb, an action word. Without action, love is only a word. Then it is a fancy-sounding theory. We really cannot say that we love God if our love for other people doesn’t lead to new relationships and continued support.
