From good intentions to responsible faith routes

Good intentions aren’t an ethical principle. Just because you meant it well, doesn’t automatically make it right! No, it doesn’t mean you should abandon all your good intentions. Just make sure that your good intentions correlate with Biblical principles. Your good intentions should be converted to acts of faith, the kind found in people who serve God with all their heart. If not, the Bible becomes just another ‘get out of jail free’ card in your life with which to justify good intentions. Then you can actually do whatever you like and afterwards claim that it was meant well. Don’t do that. Shift from good intentions to practical faith. Contemplate God’s word day and night as Psalm 1 teaches us and apply it carefully and with wisdom in your life. Don’t use the Bible as a brick to hurt others with, but rather as a handkerchief with which to dry their tears. Make sure the Word is a lamp for your feet and a light on your road. Live your faith practically.
