Biographical Sketch of

Ena (Christina) Bromley, Ph.D., M.Sc.


Ena (Christina). M. Bromley, Ph.D., M.Sc. completed her M.Sc. at the University of Pretoria and came to the US in 1994 to study for her doctorate degree in statistical genetics under the leadership of Prof. L. Dale. Van Vleck. After completing her predoctoral degree she was awarded a Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in genetic epidemiology under the leadership of Dr. Joseph F. Fraumeni and Dr. Mitch Gail. After completing her fellowship in 2001, she cofounded BioStat Solutions, Inc. (BSSI). The company was acquired by PharmaLex in September of 2001 facilitating expansion of analytical services internationally for PharmaLex.


Dr. Bromley is a statistical geneticist, genetic epidemiologist and visionary. Ena has been contributing to regulatory agencies along with biotech and large pharmaceutical companies in establishing criteria towards precision medicine and targeted therapeutics for complex disease. She has provided her expert opinion in the design, analysis and interpretation of complex data. This include representing companies towards regulatory approval for vaccines, drugs and medical devices. Dr. Bromley also serves as representative on various data safety monitoring committees. Due to the urgent need for expert analytical knowledge of vaccine studies, she has provided her expert opinion for various clinical studies involving SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). Previously Dr. Bromley was involved in advising vaccine and therapeutic studies for Ebola, Plague, Rabies, Influenza among an array of infectious diseases.


Dr. Bromley serves on the organizing committee for the Bayesian Biostatistics Meeting, BAYES2020. She is also co-chair for MBSW (Midwest Biopharmaceutical Statistics Workshop). Dr. Bromley cofounded BSSI on the principle of effective communication between analytical experts and clinical investigators and Ena continues this passion as a consultant for C-level executives to better understand opportunities as well as effectively avoid risk when exploring opportunities within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and device industries. She utilizes her knowledge across various therapeutic areas as well as her network of key opinion leaders (KOL’s) to bridge the communication gap between scientific expertise and investment opportunities.


Dr. Bromley is an analytical expert, sought after for her broad analytical knowledge across a wide range of therapeutic areas and her ability to combine genetic, analytical and epidemiological factors in the decision process towards targeted therapeutics, vaccine development and drug discovery. Her passion is to provide expertise towards actionable execution of scientific knowledge in clinical studies.


In her personal life Dr. Bromley and her husband cofounded Mission HOPE USA, a non-for profit who oversees a school, orphanage and feeding program in Memel, SA. She has a second-degree black belt in Tang soo do, and competes on a national level for US Masters swimming and AAU Taekwondo. She enjoys spending time with her husband and four adult children (when they come to visit) in Nederland, Colorado. They attend the Nederland Community Presbyterian Church and are active in seeking social justice for those who live on the margins of society.
